When it comes to planning outfits for a ski holiday, I take inspiration from Audrey, Bardot and Grace Kelly. There's just something about the colour palette, textures and fashionable combinations of the 1960s that are so chic they ooze with style. Of course staying warm is paramount, but so is looking stylish on the slopes.
We all know the preparation that goes into a sun holiday - the clothes, the bathing suits, cute outfits and the perfect dresses, nails, hair, tan and
treatments - you know what I'm talking about. Going on a ski holiday is no different, it takes the same amount of preparation and consideration when it comes to choosing the right outfits.
Getting the balance right is important - You want to look just as chic perfecting your ski technique as you do lounging around the resort later on, sipping cocktails and rehashing the days' events. Personally, I prefer this type of holiday - I'm really not for sitting around a pool all day. I relish the exhilaration and anticipation of skiing - in my opinion nothing beats the feeling of the first moment my skis make contact with the snow, and later, attempting a challenging course and conquering it. Perhaps I also love the challenge of keeping warm while remaining stylish at the same time. Growing up in a country with harsh winters, dressing for the cold and layering pretty much comes naturally.
When it comes to ski clothes, brands like Perfect Moment, Goldbergh, Fusalp and Bogner come to mind. However, if you aspire to their aesthetic but not the hefty price tag, the high street has a great range of equally stylish pieces at prices to suit every budget. Everyone from Zara to H&M, Oysho and Next seem to have an 'après-ski' collection.
Like what you hear but not sure where to start? If you're hitting the slopes or
